Farewell, Sweet Love - Transits for the Week of October 14th

Welcome to the series on weekly transits, out every Monday afternoon!

Farewell, sweet summer. The days in my area are finally cold and gray, and the memories of scorching days and sultry nights begin to fade.

That’s the vibe for the transits this week. It’s all about lost lovers, stolen moments, lingering final kisses, and stepping into the cab while the wind whips your hair. Adieu, my love. Onto new horizons.

Tomorrow, Venus trines Neptune. This is the bittersweet dream, the fading of the golden light giving way to gazing soulfully as rain streaks the windowpane. And there’s beauty in that too, isn’t there? Let us never forget the aesthetic of it all.

On Thursday, we have a Full Moon in Aries. You’ll hear a lot of scary things about this Moon, like how it squares Mars, how Mars rules Aries and therefore this Moon, and Mars in Cancer is weak and harmful. Okay. Sure. That’s not incorrect, but the Full Moon also gets a sextile from Jupiter in Gemini, suggesting that all might not be as dire as it seems. And continuing with our narrative, this is where the story gets juicy.

Thursday also brings us a sextile between Venus and Pluto. Oh the aching, beautiful loss. How it marks us, making us deeper and richer and worn. Like the Velveteen Rabbit, we become real.

And to end the day and our tale, Venus enters Sagittarius. It’s time to board the plane and jet off to new destinations, new stories.

Everyone loves a good romance, even, maybe especially, when it doesn’t have a perfect ending. There needs to be a little bitterness to cut through all that sugar.

But ultimately, this story does end happily. How long did we want to live in Venus in Scorpio’s gothic romance? Isn’t it time for a little fresh air?
