Picnics are F*cking Free - Transits for the Week of September 9th

Welcome to the series on weekly transits, out every Monday afternoon!

Happy Mercury Back In Virgo Day! Mercury leaves the rollicking and wild energy and Leo and Uranus, and moves into its home sign, where everything is all business, clearly defined, and thoroughly organized. Hectic, sure. But manageable.

And what’s more, doable. On Wednesday Mercury will sextile Mars in Cancer. And sure, there will be the option for a meltdown. So many of us have pent-up emotions and stress, and if you absolutely have to unload, that would be the day to do it. But just as many of us are tired of chasing our own tails, ineffectual and frankly bored by the whole thing.

It would be much better to do something with this. Pull the trigger. Buy the new car that you’ve been researching. Do the damn video job interview that you’re dreading because those things objectively suck. Grab your partner and say, “Yes, money’s tight, but today we’re going on a picnic because they’re fucking free let’s GO.”

And I really think it won’t be so bad. On Thursday, the Sun squares Jupiter. And sure, sure, it’s stuck in the same mutable square we’ve had for a while, but come on. It’s Jupiter. Enjoy the reprieve for a minute before you find something else to worry about.

And that is doubly true for the weekend. On Sunday, Venus in her home sign of Libra will trine Jupiter. Relax. Have a chill time at a friend’s house. Enjoy the fruits of your labors, even if they just consist of a fuzzy blanket and night cheese.
